Rock Climbing
Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the gems in the United States for so many reasons. For rock climbers it just happen to hold world class alpine rock climbing and bouldering. Since camping in or near the park can be very challenging due to the lack of available options and the number of tourists who visit the park each year staying in a hotel near the park can be a better option. While Estes Park is located right at the entrance to the park it can be overwhelmed with tourists and traffic and higher room costs. Our quiet rock climbing vacation rental in Lyons offers you quick access to both the main entrance and even closer access to the Longs Peak entrance without all the chaos (pun intended) of staying in Estes.
On my first trip to RMNP my friend and I climbed the Petit Grepon, this spire of rock tucked deep in a mountain canyon was the kind of climbing I had only dreamed of and thought existed in Europe and here it was just a short drive from home. As my skills progresses I moved onto Spearhead where bullet stone and splitter cracks offer amazing climbing. Years spent in The Park culminated in several climbs on The Diamond where all your skills as an alpine rock climber will be put to the test.
Vacation Rental
For boulderers a trip to Chaos Canyon is a right of passage. With some of the best climbers in the country putting up hard problems each year here including Alex Puccio, Daniel Woods, Dave Graham and more you will be pulling onto problems whose first ascensionists competed in World Cup competitions around the globe.
Looking for some sport climbing the River Wall in St Vrain Canyon is just a few minutes from the property with climbs of all grades on great rock. The recent addition of Aquadarius and Papadarius we now have to of the most sought after hard routes in Colorado.
