MOUNTAIN BIKING
Lyon’s has some of the best trails in the United States that mountain biking offers. Hall Ranch is one of the absolute best trails in the front range of Colorado and is located right down the street from the A-Lodge Lyons property. We recommend biking from your room since parking is limited. Head up to the Antelope trailhead then go all the way to the Nelson Loop. On your way down, if you are motivated for an extra challenge, head down the Rock Garden (Bitterbrush Trail) for some technical black diamond downhill!
Picture Rock is also a great blue square level trail accessible right from town. Its located behind the dog park on the South end of Lyons. This is an easier trail than Hall Ranch and is flowy and fun. We like to ride to the Silo and then turn around and enjoy the flowy downhill ride back to town.

Mountain Biking At Our
Lyon’s Colorado is an under the radar mountain biking mecca. With almost 100 miles of trails just outside of town, you could spend an entire week’s vacation at our mountain town hotel just riding the local classics. Add in the mountain biking trails in Boulder and surrounding areas and you will see why die-hards and pro-riders move to this area to train.
Many of the trails are open for most of the year with just the coldest snowiest months, December through February seeing a complete shutdown of the system. During the summer our higher elevation trails here in Lyons are ideal, especially in the morning when that cool mountain air is still hanging in the valleys.
As the air cools off simply drive a little further south into the trail system in Boulder where you can hit up trails like the Dirty Bismark for 16 miles of intermediate bliss! Still hungry for more just a few more miles south is the home of the legendary bike maker Yeti in Golden and they have a whole additional set of trails here that get a lot of sun making them ideal for early winter rides.

Back here in Lyons while we do have plenty of beginner and intermediate trails to choose from expert riders are going to really appreciate the challenges that rides like Hall Ranch and South St. Vrain offer. Combining leg busting climbs in the 2,000 foot with technical bike handling skiils required these rides pack it all in making for a very satisfying day on the trails.
After your day on the dirt come back to our little mountain town hotel to enjoy a beer in the Rock Garden before strolling into town, ideal for flushing the legs, and grabbing dinner at one of the town eateries.
